Take That India Debut at Earthshot Awards in Mumbai

Take That are set to give their first-ever performance in India at Prince William's Earthshot Prize Awards in Mumbai next month. Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald will take the stage during the awards ceremony, joining a host of global stars from music, film, and sport.

Historic Performance in Mumbai

The performance comes ahead of the release of the band's 10th studio album, Dreamers. In a statement, the band said: “We’ve been lucky enough to perform in some incredible places around the world over the past 35 years, but India is somewhere we’ve always dreamed of bringing our music.”

“To be performing here for the very first time, after all these years, and alongside the extraordinary people creating a better future for our planet - is really special. As we’ve seen the world over, music has an exquisite way of bringing people together, and we can’t wait to share that magic with The Earthshot Prize and the world from Mumbai. We’re ready for a night we’ll never forget.”

Awards Ceremony Details

The awards ceremony, taking place on November 17, is halfway through its decades-long cycle to recognise and reward ideas by companies and individuals to help save the planet from climate change and other environmental issues. The five winners in each category will receive £1 million to scale up their solutions. The Princess of Wales is expected to join her husband in India.

Renowned Indian composer Shashwat Sachdev will also perform in the show's finale. Take That and Shashwat will join cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Oscar winner Rami Malek, and Devil Wears Prada star Simone Ashley at the awards, alongside Earthshot Ambassador Robert Irwin. The event will be hosted by Bollywood legend Karan Johar.

Global Reach and Star Support

Since its launch in 2021, the initiative has attracted stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey, Cate Blanchett, Sir David Attenborough, and former New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern. The initiative was inspired by former US president John F Kennedy's Moonshot project.

The Earthshot Prize Awards from Mumbai will be streamed live for the first time on Amazon Prime, reaching a global audience of more than 240 countries and territories, covering more than 40 languages. Jason Knauf, CEO of The Earthshot Prize, said: "This year in Mumbai, we’re telling the biggest story in the world. It’s a story of the immense challenges facing our planet, but also the amazing progress that extraordinary people – scientists, innovators, activists and leaders – can make possible. 2026 will be the biggest and best Earthshot Prize Awards Night yet, and we’re thrilled to have music legends Take That join us in Mumbai to celebrate the people who drive forward The Earthshot Prize’s mission."
