Sir Tom Jones has postponed two concerts on his Come Gather Round World Tour after being diagnosed with a bad case of the flu. The 86-year-old singer announced the news on Instagram, saying he is "truly sorry" for any inconvenience caused.
Doctor's Advice Forces Rescheduling
The music legend was due to perform in Los Angeles on Monday (October 26) and in San Diego on Tuesday, but has rescheduled both shows on medical advice. In a statement, he explained: "I've had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I've been hit with a bad case of the flu."
"Following doctor's advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight's show in Los Angeles and tomorrow's show in San Diego. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. I look forward to seeing you all soon."
New Dates and Ticket Information
The San Diego concert will now take place at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on November 3, while the Los Angeles show has been moved to November 4. The tour began this summer across the UK and Europe before recent shows in North America.
Sir Tom added: "All tickets for the original dates will remain valid, however, if customers are unable to attend the rescheduled dates, they are advised to contact their original point of purchase for a refund." The announcement came just hours before he was due to perform at the Greek Theatre, with the Los Angeles venue among those wishing him well.
Recent News and Career Highlights
The postponement follows Sir Tom's recent revelation that ITV "made the decision" to "fire" him from The Voice UK coaching panel. He shared the news on Instagram last month amid speculation he had been dropped from its 2027 series, having served as an on-off coach since the show's 2012 debut.
Beyond television, Sir Tom is known for hits including Delilah and She's A Lady, and has achieved three UK number one singles and four chart-topping albums during a career spanning more than six decades. He has also won one Grammy, two Brits and an Ivor Novello Award, and received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 for his services to music.
