Sam Fender tickets resold for 10x face value after crash

Tickets for Sam Fender's Proper Massive Stadium tour appeared on resale sites for more than ten times their face value within minutes of the presale opening, after ticketing platform Gigantic struggled under demand.

Fans trying to buy tickets for the 2027 tour dates, including the Newcastle shows at St James' Park, reported difficulty accessing Gigantic this morning. Only a small portion of people were able to reach the site, prompting many to look elsewhere for tickets.

Resale listings surge after site crash

On resale platform Viagogo, which does not cap how much sellers can charge, tickets were listed for two or three times the original cost. Some were offered at over £1,200 when the face value was £110.

Viagogo has since deactivated all listings for the St James' Park dates. However, active listings remain for other venues, sitting at around twice the face value. Edinburgh and Cardiff each have roughly 30 listings per venue, while Wembley has around 50 listings for each night of the two-night residency at Wembley Stadium.

Premium seats and remaining listings

Some premium seats, such as those close to the floor at Wembley, are on sale for £447 despite costing just £100. Resale platforms face capped service fees and a legal obligation to monitor and enforce compliance, with heavy potential penalties for violations, yet scalpers continue to take advantage.

Despite the Viagogo listings being taken down, active listings remain on StubHub as of writing. The most expensive ticket on sale for St James' Park is £694, with two tickets available, one for each night of the two-night residency.
