Sam Fender has confirmed that Front Standing tickets have been removed from his Proper Massive 2027 UK stadium tour, following his criticism of the original pricing structure. The singer had earlier described the prices as 'crackers' and 'far too high' in an Instagram comment, telling fans: "It’s b******t and It won’t be happening on this tour."
The change came after it emerged that front standing tickets were being sold at a premium of more than £20 over the standard non-seated tickets. This affected venues including Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh and Wembley, with Newcastle being the cheapest overall.
New pricing structure confirmed
In an update posted on his social media accounts, Fender wrote: "I've managed to get Front Standing tickets removed from the UK stadium tour. Whoever buys a standing ticket gets as much chance as anyone to be at the front."
He added: "No more 120 quid standing tickets either. Costs are astronomical compared to two years ago, I can't control the venue and ticketing fees, that's a sad reality of today's industry."
Fender also confirmed the new prices: GA Standing tickets at £85, and seats priced at £95, £75 and £55. These prices exclude venue and ticket company fees, plus a £1 per ticket contribution to Live Trust, which supports the grassroots music ecosystem in the UK.
Fans react positively
The response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive, with comments including "Well done Sam! Now this is more like it!" and "Credit where credit is due, other artists should take note and follow this example".
The announcement follows the unveiling of next year's tour, which includes two shows at St James' Park in Newcastle on Thursday June 3 and Saturday June 5.
