Singer Perrie Edwards has said she is “always down” for a reunion with former band Little Mix. The 32-year-old pop star rose to fame alongside bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock after winning The X Factor in 2011. The group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2022, following Nelson’s departure in 2020, and Edwards launched a solo career.
Speaking to 1883 magazine, Edwards was asked about a potential reunion and replied: “I love the girls, so I’m always down!” She also expressed excitement about reuniting with her former bandmates at her upcoming wedding to professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Reflecting on her solo journey, Edwards described leaving the group as “daunting” and a “huge dynamic shift”. She said: “When you’re in a group, you’ve got that comfort blanket… When you go solo, it’s basically starting from scratch again.” She added that the possibilities are “endless” but overwhelming.
Edwards released her debut solo single, Forget About Us, co-written with Ed Sheeran, in 2024, followed by Tears and You Go Your Way. She is set to release new music later this month and emphasised the importance of lyrics in her solo work.
The mother-of-two also spoke about balancing her career and family life, saying she feels “very fulfilled” and happy with the balance between being a pop star and a mum.
