Rock icon Ozzy Osbourne is set to be immortalised in his hometown as he receives a star on Birmingham's prestigious Walk of Stars. The Black Sabbath frontman will join a roster of celebrated figures from the city, with the ceremony taking place near Villa Park.
The honour recognises Osbourne's monumental contribution to music, both as a solo artist and as part of the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Born in Birmingham in 1948, Osbourne rose from the city's working-class roots to become one of the most influential figures in rock history.

Birmingham Mayor Andy Street praised the decision, stating: "Ozzy's journey from Aston to global stardom embodies the spirit of Birmingham. His star on Broad Street will serve as a permanent reminder of what our city can achieve."
The Walk of Stars, located along Broad Street, already features tributes to other Birmingham luminaries including comedian Jasper Carrott and musician Tony Iommi, Osbourne's Black Sabbath bandmate.
Ceremony Details
The unveiling ceremony is scheduled for later this month and is expected to draw thousands of fans. Organisers have chosen a location near Villa Park football stadium, acknowledging Osbourne's well-known support for Aston Villa FC.
This recognition comes as Birmingham continues to celebrate its musical heritage, with plans underway for a permanent Black Sabbath exhibition in the city centre.
Osbourne, who recently returned to the UK after decades in California, has expressed his gratitude for the honour, calling it "proper mental in the best way possible".
