Oasis Drummer Tony McCarroll Breaks Silence on Feud with Noel and Liam Gallagher After Being Sacked
Oasis Drummer Speaks Out on Gallagher Feud

Former Oasis drummer Tony McCarroll has spoken out about his turbulent relationship with Noel and Liam Gallagher, shedding light on the infamous feud that led to his abrupt departure from the band.

McCarroll, who played on the band's debut album Definitely Maybe, was fired in 1995 amid rising tensions with the Gallagher brothers. He claims his dismissal was orchestrated by Noel, who allegedly wanted a more technically proficient drummer.

The Feud That Shook Britpop

In a candid interview, McCarroll revealed the deep-seated animosity between him and the Gallaghers. "There was always tension," he admitted. "Noel wanted total control, and Liam had his own ego clashes with me."

McCarroll's exit marked the beginning of a long-standing rift, with the drummer later suing the band for unpaid royalties—a case that was eventually settled out of court.

Life After Oasis

Since leaving the band, McCarroll has kept a relatively low profile, occasionally performing with other musicians. Reflecting on his time with Oasis, he remains proud of his contributions but admits the fallout still stings.

"We created something special, but the way it ended was ugly," he said. "I’ve moved on, but the scars are still there."
