Noel Gallagher confirms Oasis summer 2027 return as football schedules align
Noel Gallagher confirms Oasis summer 2027 return

Noel Gallagher has given the strongest confirmation yet that Oasis are to make a big summer 2027 return to the live music arena. Noel had remained tight-lipped about the new tour rumours in recent months, while brother Liam Gallagher has been teasing fans with lots of hints and clues on social media.

However now, in his own words, Noel has confirmed there's "something happening" in summer 2027. Speaking to TalkSport presenter Andy Goldstein on Wednesday night, there was plenty of banter about brother Liam's recent departure from social media site X.

Liam's social media exit and Noel's response

Liam had urged Noel on X to announce a new tour, saying: "Ffs RKID announce the tour we're all losing our minds." He then went on to say he was quitting social media amid apparent frustrations about the "goose chases" around the new tour rumours.

When TalkSport presenter Andy brought up Liam's recent activity on social media, saying he had heard the singer had come off social media, he asked Noel: "He said 'I'm done'. Did you not know that?" Noel joked in response: "Oh well there must be something happening."

The Chief then added: "There must be something happening. Well let's put it this way, there's no football tournament on next year. So we've got to do something in the summer, right?"

Etihad Stadium plans and Euro 2028 clash

As the MEN revealed earlier this summer, the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, home to the Gallaghers' beloved Manchester City, is set to host up to 12 gigs from Oasis across June 2027. Man City's games conclude at the end of May, giving Oasis free reign to take over the ground for what are set to be the hottest tickets of next summer in Manchester.

The MEN understands from music industry sources that the gig schedule will see three gigs a week, including weekends, at the Etihad Stadium across June, while plans are also afoot to stage a huge return to Knebworth from the band later in the summer.

For Oasis to make their dream return to the home of Manchester City, it would HAVE to be summer 2027. That's because in summer 2028 the ground will be playing host to games in the big UEFA Euro 2028 tournament, which will also take place at football stadia across Great Britain.

Film premieres and expected announcement

Matches will be taking place from June 11 right through to July 9 in 2028 at football grounds across the UK and Ireland for the Euros. It will include Newcastle's St James Park, Wembley Stadium in London, the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff, Dublin Arena in Dublin, Hampden Park in Glasgow and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester - which will mean limited opportunities for any big outdoor music events at those venues across that summer.

After Noel's comments on Wednesday night, speculation has reached fever pitch among fans about when the band could now make an official announcement about their return to the stage. This weekend Noel and Liam are confirmed to attend the world premiere of the new docufilm about the Oasis Live 2025 return at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday, September 5.

The film, Don't Look Back in Anger, will feature the first joint interview from the brothers about their epic comeback. They will then return to London for the UK premiere of the film on Monday, September 7. The film will then head into selected cinemas from Wednesday, September 9, before general release across the world from Friday, September 11.

The MEN understands from music industry sources that a big announcement is being planned by mid-September. A new Oasis tour would spark an epic scramble for tickets, given the 2025 tour broke all records amid the clamour from millions of fans to be at the live shows across the world.

Liam himself has been dropping plenty of clues to fans on his official X social media account in recent times about a new tour. When the official Oasis account shared a flashback video marking the anniversary of the band's comeback, Liam's response was telling. It detailed the 5 continents, 41 shows, and 2million fans who had been a part of the tour. And Liam's response to that post? "We want MORE."

When directly asked about our original 12 nights at the Etihad story, Liam responded to a fan to say: "12 I thought it was 10 ffs". Replying to one fan desperately asking when the tour will be announced he said: "You are not the boss we will announce when the time is righteous." Oasis have not yet officially announced any 2027 dates.
