Madonna has announced her first album in seven years, Confessions II, set for release on July 3. The record is a continuation of her 2005 hit Confessions on a Dance Floor.
The 67-year-old pop icon revealed the album cover, featuring her in a silver jacket and blue leotard, looking youthful and ready for action. She described the dance floor as a 'ritualistic space where movement replaces language.'
In a statement, Madonna explained that the album's manifesto emphasises dance as a spiritual practice. 'We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies,' she said, adding that raving is an art form that connects people.
The original Confessions on a Dance Floor, produced by Stuart Price, spawned hits like Hung Up, Sorry, and Get Together. Madonna confirmed the new album on social media, writing: 'Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II – July 3 2026.'
Fans and celebrities, including Donatella Versace, expressed excitement. Madonna also hinted at future projects, including a role in Seth Rogen's series The Studio, though touring plans remain unconfirmed.
