In a post on X, NORAD said: "NORAD F-16s intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft today that violated temporary flight restrictions over Bedminster, NJ. All aircraft were safely escorted out of the area by NORAD aircraft. Pilots: check your Notice to Airmen (NOTAMS) and FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions."
The 1st Air Force's Air Forces Northern clarified that two aircraft were involved, according to FOX News. Officials confirmed the aircraft were safely guided out of the restricted zone, and no threats or hazardous behaviour were reported during the secure escort.
Earlier warning to pilots
Earlier in the week, on August 6, the Air Force had warned on X: "Heads up, Pilots! Multiple TFRs will be in effect over the New Jersey area this weekend. U.S. Army ground-based air defense assets may also be visible. Remember: Check NOTAMs before EVERY flight! Stay Safe, Fly Informed!"
