The BBC has announced that the YouTuber and experimental singer-songwriter Look Mum No Computer will represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May 2026. The performer, whose real name is Sam Battle, has built a substantial online fanbase through his creative endeavours, amassing over 85 million views and 1.4 million subscribers and followers across various social media platforms.

A Passionate Eurovision Fan Takes the Stage

Sam Battle expressed his excitement about the opportunity, stating, "I find it completely bonkers to be jumping on this wonderful and wild journey. I have always been a massive Eurovision fan, and I love the magical joy it brings to millions of people every year, so getting to join that legacy and fly the flag for the UK is an absolute honour that I am taking very seriously." He emphasised his dedication to the project, noting that he has been working extensively on creating, writing, and producing his own visions from scratch, with plans to bring every ounce of his creativity to his performances. Battle added, "I hope Eurovision is ready to get synthesised." The specific song he will perform at the competition in Austria has not yet been revealed.

Based in Kent, Battle launched his music career in 2014 as the frontman of the indie rock band Zibra, which performed at Glastonbury in 2015 for BBC Introducing.
