Liam Gallagher hints at new Oasis album in fan reply

Liam Gallagher has sparked excitement among fans by hinting that Oasis could record new music for the first time in almost 20 years. The singer, 54, responded to a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, who wrote: "Oasis have SEVEN great albums and those songs with LIVE FOREVER." Gallagher replied: "8 including the new 1, I mean happy birthday."

Teasing new music ahead of 2027 tour

His comment follows earlier hints about new material as part of the band's Oasis Live '27 tour next year. Last month, replying on the platform about new tunes, he said: "Listen, if all goes well with the tour, I guess next step is to have a chat about new music. Can’t see us touring again unless we have new music."

Any new release would come nearly two decades after the band's last studio album, Dig Out Your Soul, which came out in 2008. A year later, Oasis split bitterly after a backstage dispute between the Gallagher brothers.

Reunion success and record-breaking shows

Fans celebrated last year when the brothers repaired their relationship and embarked on the hugely successful Oasis Live '25 reunion tour. Over 11 million fans signed up for codes for the upcoming tour. However, those hoping for more dates to be added to next year's run are likely to be disappointed.

Last month, the Mancunian brothers confirmed another tour following the success of Live '25, which saw Liam and Noel on stage together for the first time in almost 16 years. Next year, the band will play five shows in Scotland, then head to Manchester City's Etihad Stadium for 11 nights, each a sell-out. They have also smashed records with six nights at Knebworth House, beating the previous record of three consecutive nights held by Robbie Williams.

Noel Gallagher on the 2025 reunion

Noel previously said of the 2025 success: "Nobody knew what was going to happen and how it was going to go. We did Cardiff and Manchester, and by the time we got to Wembley, someone said 'Well y'know...' And yeah, it was decided we were gonna do it. And it was all set in motion then."

Speaking to TalkSport, he added: "We couldn't do Europe because our fans in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Holland, and all that have been great with us down the years, so we couldn't do that. These ideas start as a little idea. Then the Vegas and Boston gigs were two we were supposed to do last time, but we couldn't do them for some reason."
