Katseye's Sophia Laforteza to miss European and UK tour dates

Sophia Laforteza will not perform with Katseye during the European and UK leg of their world tour as she prioritises her “well-being”.

The 23-year-old singer had already temporarily stepped away from the group in early August to focus on her “mental health and wellness”. She follows Manon Bannerman, who stepped back in February under similar circumstances.

Tour schedule and statement

The announcement comes days before the group begins their Wildworld tour, with shows scheduled in Dublin before heading to cities including London, New York and Mexico City.

Katseye’s management, K-pop entertainment leader Hybe and US record label Geffen Records, together known as HxG, said in a statement: “Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed.

“Sophia will not be participating in The Wildworld Tour in Europe and the UK scheduled from September 1 through September 17.

“Our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists.

“Please continue to send your love, warmth, and support to Sophia and Katseye.”

Background and rise to fame

HxG previously said Laforteza had been advised by medical professionals to take “dedicated time for extended rest” to ensure a “full recovery”.

The girl group, made up of Laforteza, Bannerman, Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung, was formed in 2023 on the X Factor-style competition show The Debut: Dream Academy.

They are best known for the songs Touch, Gnarly, and Gabriela and have had a sharp rise to fame after the release of their debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong) and follow-up 2025 EP Beautiful Chaos.

Katseye was also nominated at the 2026 Grammy Awards for best new artist and best pop group performance for their song Gabriela.
