Kate Moss Unveils Serene Side at Chelsea Flower Show with New Rose
Kate Moss Serene at Chelsea Flower Show with New Rose

Kate Moss appeared serene at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, a stark contrast to her wild party-loving past. The British supermodel attended the Royal Hospital Chelsea for an exclusive preview of the annual Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) event, held 24 hours before its official launch.

Kate Moss Rose Debuts at Chelsea

Moss, 52, had a special reason to visit the west London venue. Renowned floral nursery Peter Beales Roses will launch several special roses during the show, including one named after her. The white and lemon flower, dubbed the 'Kate Moss' rose, is described by Peter Beales as 'a study in modern elegance' that 'speaks directly to the sensibilities of today's cultural landscape. It is a rose for those who appreciate understatement over excess; refinement over spectacle.'

Moss, who had already posed for a home photoshoot with the rose, was on hand for demure pictures as the event prepared to get underway. 'Peter Beales naming a rose after me feels beautifully strange – knowing I could bloom quietly in someone's garden somewhere,' she said.

Opting for a silk shirt and white lace skirt, Moss looked worlds away from her party-girl past. Peter Beales Roses holds the record for most gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show, with 30 wins. The 'Kate Moss' rose will compete in this year's Plant of the Year Competition.

The One Show 20th Rose Unveiled

Elsewhere, The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp revealed a special rose to celebrate the programme's 20th anniversary. Bred over 10 years, a portion of sales will go to Children In Need. Jones said, 'The One Show's 20th rose is absolutely beautiful and it's the perfect way to mark the show's milestone birthday.' Kemp added, 'This launch is a brilliant way to kick start the anniversary celebrations.'

Other Celebrity Appearances

Other stars at the press day included Strictly's Alex Kingston and 2004 contestant Jeff Brazier, who promoted the Lady Garden Foundation's Silent No More Garden. Kingston, diagnosed with womb cancer in 2024, and Brazier, who lost his mother Jade Goody to cervical cancer, were joined by sisters Tamara Beckwith Veroni and Clare van Dam. Strictly professional Nadiya Bychkova and partner Joe Sugg attended with their baby. Presenters Vogue Williams, Gloria Hunniford, Jeremy Clarkson, and artist Grayson Perry were also spotted, along with gardening expert Alan Titchmarsh.

Queen guitarist Sir Brian May, comedian Bill Bailey, and presenter Dame Floella Benjamin showed off gnomes decorated for auction to support the RHS's Campaign for School Gardening. The One Show rose's official unveiling will air Monday at 7:00pm on BBC One and iPlayer. Ian Limmer, Peter Beales' senior rosarian, said, 'We are incredibly proud to introduce The One Show 20th Rose at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026. This rose represents the very best of British rose breeding and a meaningful partnership supporting BBC Children In Need.'
