Jamie Webster is set to headline On The Waterfront at Liverpool's Pier Head on Friday, June 18, 2027, with Liverpool band The Cheap Thrills as support. The concert series will run from June 17 to June 20, with Webster as the first announced headliner.
Rise to prominence
Since releasing his debut album 'We Get By' in 2020, which topped the UK Folk Albums Chart, the Liverpool singer-songwriter has become one of the most distinctive voices in British music. He rose to prominence on the city's pub circuit, with his performance of 'Allez Allez Allez' going viral in 2018.
Webster has had sell-out performances at Sefton Park, Liverpool Waterfront, and the M&S Bank Arena, as well as four albums. He performed at two nights of On The Waterfront in 2023, thanking fans as he reached the career milestone.
Previous performances and new album
At the time, he wrote on X: "I don't really know how to put Thursday and Friday into words, I'm sat here in a bit of a bubble still; I can't remember everything yet because I was in a place I've never been before on that stage on each of those nights."
He added: "I keep getting flashbacks of moments and I keep breaking into tears and smiles. To have an army of fans like you stand in front of me and share these moments with is something I don't think I'll ever be able to describe."
The singer-songwriter released his fourth album, 'Running Round The Sun', in September. Speaking to the ECHO ahead of its release, he said: "I can't quite believe that it's my fourth album already. Time passes you by when you're having fun, doesn't it?"
He continued: "It's been nearly two years since I've done my own proper tour with the band, under all the lights and everything else. Sometimes I feel like when you take a bit of time out, you feel like you've sort of fallen behind a little bit. So I'm really looking forward to getting out now and putting my foot on the gas and, you know, knocking down a few more walls and breaking through a few more ceilings, hopefully."
Event details and tickets
The event will take place on Friday, June 18, at Pier Head, Liverpool, L3 1HN, with times from 5pm to 11pm (last entry 7.30pm). Prices start from £40.00 plus booking fee. It is a standing event, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two children per adult.
