Gregg Wallace Embarks on New Culinary Chapter After BBC Departure
Having withdrawn his legal claim against the BBC, former MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace is now focusing his energies on a fresh culinary enterprise. I can reveal that the axed television personality, 61, aims to build a new fortune by selling Italian recipe boxes online through a venture with his wife, Anne-Marie, known as Anna.
Anna's Kitchen: A Family-Run Business from Kent
The couple are preparing to launch Anna's Kitchen, operating from their farmhouse in Biddenden, Kent. The business will specialise in pantry essentials and ready-meals, with the website highlighting Wallace's "over 20 years at the pinnacle of culinary television presentation." Notably, it makes no reference to his MasterChef exit, instead assuring customers: "You may have seen Gregg on TV – but don't worry, there's no judging here."
Wallace was dismissed from the BBC show last July after more than forty misconduct allegations were upheld against him. Since then, he has been generating income by creating personalised greeting videos for fans on the Cameo platform, charging £38 per video.
A Romance Born on Social Media
Anna, born Anne-Marie Sterpini, first connected with Wallace on Twitter (now X) in 2013 when she inquired whether rhubarb complemented duck. The pair married at Hever Castle in 2016, with Wallace's former co-host John Torode serving as best man. Torode was subsequently also removed from MasterChef following an upheld allegation that he used a racist term.
The couple reside in Biddenden with their six-year-old son, Sid, and Anna's Italian parents, Rina and Massimo. Their new business venture represents a significant shift following Wallace's professional setbacks.
Legal Claim Withdrawn Without Settlement
Last month, the BBC confirmed it would not pay Wallace any costs or damages after he withdrew his legal claim. He had alleged that the corporation failed to provide copies of his personal data upon request, seeking up to £10,000 in damages for "distress and harassment."
This new culinary endeavour marks Wallace's attempt to rebuild his career and financial prospects outside the television industry, leveraging his public profile while distancing himself from past controversies.
