The 28-year-old Colombian winger, who left Anfield in the summer of 2025, has released his debut single titled 'La Promesa', which translates to 'The Promise'. The track, released on the cusp of the new year, is a collaboration with acclaimed artists Juanda Iriarte and Nelsen, key figures in the Afro-Colombian champeta music genre.
In the song, Diaz sings emotionally about the pledge he made to his parents to buy them a house and help them leave their old neighbourhood, a direct reflection of his personal journey. The lyrics are a heartfelt expression of gratitude for his footballing career, with lines including: "Thank you, God, For giving me the blessing of playing football," and "And being able to fulfil the promise I made to my parents."

Announcing the project on Instagram as 2025 concluded, Diaz penned a sincere message to his fans. He wrote of his deep gratitude to God and his family for their unwavering support through sacrifices and difficult moments. "This song comes from the bottom of my heart, from the most sincere gratitude for what we have built together," he stated.
