Canadian rapper Drake has revealed that his father, Dennis Graham, is battling cancer, sharing the news in the lyrics of his new song 'Make Them Cry'. The 39-year-old artist released three albums on Thursday: 'Iceman', 'Maid Of Honour', and 'Habibti'.
Heartbreaking Revelation in Lyrics
In the opening track of 'Iceman', titled 'Make Them Cry', Drake raps: 'My dad got cancer right now, we battlin' stages.' He continues: 'Trust me when I say there's plenty things I'd rather be facing (For real)/And this time, ask me to dig deeper, I'll gladly explain it.'
The song further references his family with lines such as: 'I know for sure that my parents, they look at me and see an overcomer/I'm looking back at them and these days, I see an older couple.'
Family Health Update
This marks the first time Drake has publicly addressed his father's health status. Dennis Graham, 71, is a former drummer who has had a sometimes strained relationship with his son, but the lyrics suggest they are united in facing this challenge.
Fans have expressed support for the rapper, who is known for his emotional and personal songwriting. The album 'Iceman' is one of three surprise releases that have generated significant buzz in the music industry.
