Cruz Beckham has said he never would have gone on tour without the support of his girlfriend Jackie Apostel. The musician, 21, is the third son of former footballer Sir David Beckham and Spice Girl Lady Victoria Beckham. He has now released his debut EP Wear & Tear, recorded with his band Cruz Beckham And The Breakers, which features six songs and an accompanying music video for each one.
Girlfriend's influence on his career
Speaking to Official Charts, Beckham said Apostel, a 30-year-old singer-songwriter, has had a huge influence over his career so far. He said: “She’s honestly had such an impact on my career already, and it’s only the beginning.
“I feel like I wouldn’t be on tour without her. I wouldn’t have met the band without her and she inspires me every day to be the best version of myself.”
Tour and songwriting history
Beckham, who has been dating Apostel since 2024, went on tour this year, playing several UK and European shows before heading to America. He began composing music at the age of 11 and said he has written more than 1,000 songs over the years.
Beckham will take to the stage for four UK festival shows over the coming weeks alongside The Breakers at Rock’N’Roll Circus in both Norwich and Sheffield, and Reading & Leeds.
EP tribute to live shows
He said: “This EP is a tribute to the live shows that kickstarted my career.
“Everyone who’s come to the show, who I met, I’ve listened to the songs they wanted out and here they are.
“I can’t wait for these to be in the world. It’s the beginning of a beautiful journey we get to take together.”
The title track of the EP was released as the lead single on June 26 and follows the release of other songs including Optics, Lick The Toad and For Your Love.
Beckham’s burgeoning music career comes amid a public family fallout with his older brother Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, who posted an explosive statement on Instagram accusing his parents of putting “Brand Beckham” first and announcing he does not want to “reconcile” with his family.
