EastEnders is set to welcome a Strictly Come Dancing favourite for a special appearance on the BBC soap, according to reports. Former Strictly contestant La Voix is reportedly set for a cameo on the cobbles of the soap.
The drag icon, whose real name is Christopher Dennis, is set to help the soap mark Pride month with a gig in the Queen Vic. It's said to be part of Walford's LGBTQ+ celebrations which will air soon. The show first began celebrating Pride in 2019.
The RuPaul's Drag Race star is close pals with actress Harriet Thorpe. The star plays the role of Elaine Peacock, who was the former landlady of the pub.
La Voix's Growing BBC Presence
A source told The Sun: "Since starring on Strictly last year, La Voix has absolutely been the Beeb's top pick, helping them host events and even announcing the UK's scores for Eurovision. So when there was discussion about a drag queen performing at Walford Pride, there was only ever one option. La Voix was absolutely thrilled to be asked and bosses hope viewers enjoy the fun Pride special."
It will mark the latest big TV platform for the star following Strictly success. Last month, La Voix was part of the Eurovision ensemble. Every year, a celebrity from each of the participating countries joins the show via a video call to announce which acts have won maximum points from their country. And this year's UK celebrity was the former Strictly star.
La Voix said following the announcement: "I'm absolutely over the moon to be announcing the UK Jury scores at Eurovision 2026. It's the one night where sequins are en masse, key changes are compulsory, and absolutely anything can happen – so naturally I feel right at home. I'll do my best to behave… but no promises!"
La Voix was the latest in a long list of famous faces to have taken on the role. Huge names in the past included Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who took on the job in 2025 after Ncuti Gatwa withdrew, and Joanna Lumley.
Strictly Come Dancing Host Speculation
La Voix's position on Eurovision came amid rumours that she was in the running to join Emma Willis as one of the Strictly hosts. There had been much speculation about who will take over for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. But rather than the drag artist, the BBC opted for Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe instead.
And the names of this year's contestants have began to be revealed. First up was Lacey Turner, who herself has been a big part of EastEnders in recent years, with Stacey Slater having a number of huge storylines on the soap. Delta Goodrem will also take to the dancefloor. And Dani Dyer will be hoping for a more fruitful run in the upcoming series as she gives the contest another go. She had to leave the show due to injury last time out.
