Fans of period dramas have just days left to watch a classic Jane Austen adaptation that forms part of Netflix's extensive historical drama library. The romance film features five sisters dealing with issues of marriage and morality, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.

The Film in Question

The film is the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, based on Jane Austen's 1813 novel. Knightley plays Elizabeth Bennet, while Macfadyen plays Mr Darcy. The film was a box office hit and has been praised extensively by fans.

One viewer took to IMDb reviews to hail it an "emotional masterpiece," but it will not be available on Netflix for much longer.

The star-studded film, which features Vera's Brenda Blethyn as Mrs Bennet, will leave the streaming service on Saturday, June 20. Unfortunately, it is not currently available on any other subscription service. However, fans can buy the film digitally from Prime Video and Apple TV for £2.99.

Upon its initial release, the film grossed $121.6 million (£91 million) worldwide and received positive reviews from critics, with particular praise for Knightley's performance. Fans have shared their thoughts on IMDb, with one saying: "Pride and Prejudice was the best movie I've seen in a very long time, if not the best I've ever seen. It captured the very essence of Jane Austen's brilliant novel. In fact, I enjoyed the movie more than the book itself."

Another fan called it "perfect," adding: "Excellent direction, acting, script, character development, sets, photography, editing. I believe Jane Austen would have been well satisfied with this film version of her book." A third viewer commented: "Absolutely perfect 2-hour adaptation... I must give this movie 5 stars, 10 out of 10, 100% brilliance."

The film also features other huge names like Rosamund Pike, Judi Dench, Kelly Reilly, and Tom Hollander.

Pride and Prejudice is leaving Netflix on Saturday, June 20.
