A listing on Amazon UK briefly suggested that Pokémon Legends: Z-A would launch on August 15, 2025, before reverting to a placeholder date. Screenshots captured by users show the game marked for that Friday, though it is unclear how long the change persisted.
The August date would be unusual for a mainline Pokémon title, as previous August releases have only been spin-offs such as Pokémon Rumble U and Pokémon Masters EX. Additionally, the week of Obon, a major Japanese holiday, falls around that time, potentially making it an awkward launch window.
Fans are now looking to Pokémon Day on February 27 for official confirmation. The Pokémon Company typically holds a Pokémon Presents showcase on that date, and recent data in Pokémon GO references a tie-in event, suggesting a presentation is imminent.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A was announced in February 2024 as a follow-up to 2022’s Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While details remain scarce, the game is expected to launch on Nintendo Switch and likely on the upcoming Switch 2 console.
