Pop icon and business mogul Rihanna has cast Vivian Wilson, the 21-year-old transgender daughter of tech billionaire Elon Musk, in the latest Valentine's Day campaign for her lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty.
A Modern Ode to Aphrodite
The new collection, titled 'Love So Savage: A Modern Ode to Aphrodite,' features Wilson alongside fellow models Lovie Simone and Emma Arletta in a striking image set against marble statues. For the shoot, Wilson wore a rose-patterned balconette bra and a matching lace miniskirt, completed with vibrant red tights and gold earrings.
This campaign marks another significant step in Wilson's burgeoning modelling career, which began in earnest last year. She is joined in the wider campaign by other celebrities, including Love Island stars Serena Page and Kordell Beckham, as well as influencers Hayley and Jules LeBlanc.
Wilson's Modelling Ascent and Personal Journey
Vivian Wilson's entry into the fashion spotlight has been rapid. She appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue in March of last year, followed by her professional modelling debut for the brand Wildfang just two months later. In May, she also modelled for the underwear label Tomboyx.
Wilson has been candid about the initial challenges, telling Vanity Fair she was "terrified" during the Tomboyx shoot. "Before this, I was very much the person who didn't show any skin, ever," she admitted, explaining she undertook the work to build confidence in her own body.
Her runway debut came at New York Fashion Week in September, where she walked for the label CHRISHABANA. Despite her rising fame, Wilson confessed to The Cut that she finds being famous a difficult "skill," having once cherished her anonymity.
Estrangement from Elon Musk and Rihanna's Vision
Wilson, the eldest daughter of Elon Musk and his ex-wife Justine, has a publicly strained relationship with her father. At 18, she filed to have 'Musk' removed from her last name. She has stated plainly, "I don't give a f*** about him" and expressed frustration at being constantly associated with him.
Rihanna, who launched Savage x Fenty in 2018, framed the Valentine's collection as an inclusive celebration. "Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate love in all its forms," the singer and mother-of-three said in a statement. "At Savage x Fenty, we're all about embracing love in every way and creating products that let people feel confident while doing so."
The campaign also features Rihanna herself, showcasing red lace sets and rose-patterned pieces. This launch comes nearly five months after the performer welcomed her third child, a daughter named Rocki, with partner A$AP Rocky.
