Stars Pose Nude for Pirelli's 2026 Calendar

The highly anticipated Pirelli calendar for 2026 has been unveiled, featuring a constellation of A-list stars in a series of breathtaking and artistic nude portraits. This year's edition, the 52nd of its kind, was masterfully shot by renowned photographer Sølve Sundsbø in locations spanning from Norfolk to New York City.

A Stellar Cast Embodies Natural Elements

Supermodel Irina Shayk, 39, looked sensational, using a flowing pink chiffon drape to retain her modesty while showcasing her incredible figure. The dramatic effect was amplified by a wind machine, creating a dynamic and powerful image.

Meanwhile, singer FKA Twigs, 37, displayed her toned physique and rippling muscles in a bold sandpit photoshoot. The artist, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, revealed ample sideboob in a display of raw strength and beauty.

Gwendoline Christie, the 47-year-old Games of Thrones star, opted for a more ethereal aesthetic. Her gorgeous close-up portrait was bathed in a soft, beaming light, creating a serene and otherworldly effect.

The calendar boasts an impressive and diverse lineup, including tennis legend Venus Williams, 45, and acclaimed actresses Tilda Swinton, 65, and Isabella Rossellini, 73. The cast is completed by 90s modelling icon Eva Herzigová, 52, and other notable figures like Sue Cave and Adria Arjona.

An Artistic Vision Beyond the Physical

This year's theme sees the famous models portraying both the classic natural elements—earth, air, fire, and water—and more intangible forces like energy, ether, and light. Photographer Sølve Sundsbø explained his ambitious concept, stating he wanted to move beyond the literal.

"The Calendar goes beyond the traditional four elements," Sundsbø said. "I wanted to capture emotions, instincts and states of mind that are central to human life. The desire for freedom, curiosity, the thirst for knowledge... A kind of mystery, imagination, passion, the desire for emancipation, the bond with nature and our relationship with time and space."

He emphasised his desire to work with mature women with experience and depth, women he deeply respects for what they represent. Sundsbø, who has worked with top fashion publications and brands like Prada and Gucci, described the project as an attempt to connect us to our origins.

The Evolution of the Pirelli Calendar

The Pirelli calendar, published annually by the company's UK arm since 1964, is not sold but given as an exclusive gift to celebrities and select customers. It has a storied history, famously featuring a 16-year-old Naomi Campbell in 1987.

In a significant shift, the 2017 calendar marked a feminist overhaul, moving away from its previous reputation for scantily-clad models. That edition featured older actresses like Helen Mirren and Julianne Moore, hailed as a triumph for representation.

This progressive direction continued with the 2020 calendar, where stars including Emma Watson posed fully clothed in a Shakespeare-inspired spread. The calendar was not published in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the only break since its inception in 1964.

Last year's edition, shot by Prince Gyasi, celebrated the calendar's 60th anniversary and featured the first black photographer in its history. The 2026 edition, under Sundsbø's creative direction, continues this legacy of artistic innovation and powerful representation.
