The Full High Street Makeup Breakdown

In a recent Instagram video, the 40-year-old former WAG detailed her entire makeup application using products readily available from local chemists. She relied solely on affordable items from Maybelline to create the polished look she's known for.

The total cost for every product used came to approximately $233 Australian dollars, which is roughly £190. Bartel pointed out that savvy shoppers could spend even less by purchasing the items when they are on promotion.

Her routine began with the Grippy Serum 24H Gripping Primer ($28), followed by the Lifter Stix Multi-Use Face Stick ($30) and the Instant Age Rewind Eraser Multi-Use Concealer ($25). For her brows, she used the Brow Ultra Slim Pencil ($20), and coated her lashes with the Lash Sensational Lengthening Mascara ($25).

The base was perfected with the Superstay Skin Tint Foundation ($38), while the Superstay Teddy Tint Lipstick ($27) doubled as a blush. She finished her lips with the Lifter Hydrating Longwear Lip Liner ($20) and the Lifter Glaze Oil Balm ($20).

Embracing Bare Skin and Skincare Honesty

In a move praised for its authenticity, Bartel has also recently shared candid insights into her skincare, revealing what lies beneath the makeup. In another Instagram video, she appeared completely makeup-free to disclose a common skin concern.

Zooming in close to the camera, she showed a series of pimples and 'bumps', explaining they are not visible when she wears 'a full face' of makeup. She attributed these blemishes to not cleansing and exfoliating properly, especially after wearing 'loads of makeup and fake tan'.

To combat the issue, Bartel said she has been using a gentle exfoliating cleanser from Cetaphil.

A Streamlined Five-Minute Routine for Glowing Skin

When she does want a flawless, natural look, Bartel has shared her incredibly efficient five-minute skincare and makeup routine for 'healthy, glowing skin'. She prefers minimal makeup during the day, often opting for a good BB cream.

Starting with pre-cleansed skin, she applies a Vitamin C serum from La Roche-Posay, which retails for $69.95. 'It brightens my skin and promotes a radiant glow,' she explained.

She then forgoes a traditional moisturiser, instead using her fingers to apply a $25 SPF50+ tinted BB cream from the same brand. She praised its 'natural-looking coverage with an easy-to-apply, non-greasy formula' and its high level of protection against UV rays.

Bartel's revelations highlight a growing trend of influencers promoting accessible beauty and skincare, proving that a glamorous appearance doesn't have to come with an exorbitant cost.
