Marks and Spencer's new autumn collection offers cosy, chic and country-core styles that would make Celebrity Traitors host Claudia Winkleman proud, according to senior fashion writer Eve Rowlands. Inspired by the 54-year-old's looks on the mystery show, Rowlands visited her local M&S to create outfits that would earn the approval of Winkleman and her long-time stylist Sinead McKeefry — all for under £100.
Fringe jumpers and checked shirts
Among the finds was the Fringe Detail Relaxed Jumper with Wool, £55 from the Per Una range, which reminded Rowlands of the famous Yeti coat look by Raey and the £1,290 Isabel Marant Moka Sweater. Available in sizes XS to XL, it features fringe tassels all over the body and arms and has a relaxed fit ideal for layering. Rowlands paired it with the Pure Cotton Checked Shirt, £24, buttoned up with the collar poking over the top.
For those preferring more neck protection, the Lipsy Cream All Over Fringe Knitted Jumper from Next, £54, offers a similar all-over fringe style with a turtle neck design.
Country-core coats and skirts
Leaning into the country-core style seen on the show, Rowlands layered the Nobody's Child V-Neck Longline Jumper with Wool, £69, over the Nobody's Child Checked Collared Shirt, £65. She added the Checked Double Breasted Longline Coat (£90) with brown flecks, suggesting a thick woven hat and fingerless gloves to complete the look.
Swapping trousers for a Checked Midi Circle skirt pays homage to the kilt-style skirts Winkleman has worn on the show. For a more traditional tartan, the ASOS DESIGN tailored midi kilt in brown check with a button detail (£35) features pleats and a side zip fastening.
Roundtable-ready ruffles
For looks worthy of the show's roundtable, Rowlands found the Lace Collared Ruffle Shirt, £55, with a feminine button-through front covered in romantic ruffles, a sheer lace design (with an under-vest) and long, cuffed sleeves. She suggested pairing it with an emerald-green or purple velvet suit and loafers.
