Reality TV star Maura Higgins made a striking and controversial entrance at the 2025 Fashion Awards in London, showcasing her toned physique in a barely-there ensemble that divided opinion.
A Daring Red Carpet Moment
The 35-year-old Love Island alumna arrived at the prestigious event held at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday night in an eye-catching black and white couture creation by designer Robert Wun. Her outfit, described by many as bizarre, featured a dramatic pinstriped headpiece and skirt, paired with a revealing white pointed bralette that put her ripped six-pack abs firmly on display.
As she transitioned to the official afterparty later in the evening, Higgins was seen grappling with the British winter weather, clutching her oversized headpiece. She appeared to be half-dressed, with the gown gathered around her waist, and was forced to carry its train. Completing the look with towering black heels and a neat updo that revealed a neck tattoo, the TV personality was determined to make a statement.
From Fashion to Future TV Projects
The appearance comes as Higgins prepares to expand her television portfolio. She has signed up for the second series of The Celebrity Traitors USA, set to air in January. Despite the American cast, filming took place at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, the same location used for the BBC's British version. The host for the US series is Scottish actor Alan Cumming.
Discussing her upcoming stint on the hit show, which will also be available on BBC iPlayer, Higgins teased dramatic scenes. "In this new season, there is chaos again, once more," she told The Playlist. "About halfway through, there is a scene in it that is the greatest moment in Traitors' history. Honestly, I just cannot wait for the world to see it."
Addressing Cosmetic Procedure Rumours
In related personal news, Higgins recently opened up about her use of cosmetic treatments, after previously denying it. In a recent Instagram post, she credited Botox from @drroshoffical as part of her skincare regimen, a shift from her statements in 2021.
Back then, soon after her Love Island fame, she admitted only to lip fillers which she let dissolve, attributing changes in her appearance to orthodontic work. "I had braces on for a long time, and since my teeth have moved, they've actually pushed my lips out slightly," she explained at the time.
The Fashion Awards, first held in 1989 and known as the British Fashion Awards until 2016, returned to the Royal Albert Hall in 2016 and has remained there since, attracting global fashion icons from Princess Diana to Karl Lagerfeld. This year, Maura Higgins ensured she was a talking point amongst them.
