David Mitchell Stars in Outsiders: Channel 4's New Comedy About a Bickering Couple Forced Off-Grid
David Mitchell Stars in New Channel 4 Comedy 'Outsiders'

Channel 4 is set to deliver a hilarious new slice of British comedy with Outsiders, starring the inimitable David Mitchell. The acclaimed comedian, famed for his razor-sharp wit in Peep Show and Would I Lie To You?, takes centre stage in this suburban saga about a couple's disastrous attempt to escape modern life.

Mitchell will play Richard, one half of a warring couple who, alongside his wife (played by Emily Barrington), decides to radically abandon their comfortable existence for a self-sufficient life in the wilderness. The catch? They have absolutely no idea what they're doing.

A Stellar Comedy Ensemble

Joining Mitchell and Barrington is a powerhouse of British comedy talent. BAFTA nominee Kerry Godliman (After Life, Derek) and the brilliantly funny Ellie White (The Windsors) are confirmed as neighbours who already live off-grid, providing a masterclass in how not to live off the land.

The cast is further strengthened by the addition of Siyanda Valentine, Simon Manyonda, and Mark Silcox, promising a dynamic and laugh-out-loud ensemble.

Chaos in the Great Outdoors

The series promises to mine comedy gold from the couple's sheer incompetence and the clash between their romanticised ideals and the harsh reality of nature. Expect failed attempts at farming, DIY disasters, and marital disputes amplified by hunger and the elements.

The show is the brainchild of writers Joe Tucker and Lloyd Wolf, who have previously penned hits for Harry Hill, and is produced by the award-winning production house Objective Fiction.

With filming now underway, Outsiders is poised to become a must-watch addition to Channel 4's esteemed comedy roster, proving that sometimes the greatest wilderness is right in your own backyard.
