Former Manchester United and current Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has been enjoying a luxurious holiday in St Barts with his girlfriend, Cam Reading, following Scotland's exit from the World Cup. The 29-year-old Scotland international played every minute of his country's three group-stage matches before the team was eliminated.
Holiday in Billionaire Hotspot
Cam Reading shared a series of snaps on Instagram from their trip to the Caribbean island, captioned simply 'St Barths.' The photos show the couple posing together, with McTominay holding a glass of wine, as well as Reading in various glamorous outfits against stunning sea views. The pair reportedly began dating in 2022.
Saint Barthelemy, a French overseas territory, has a population of just 11,550 and an area of 9.7 square miles. It is a popular destination for billionaires. Former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich bought a property there in 2009, and Forbes reported that NBA legend Michael Jordan and Amazon owner Jeff Bezos were among those who docked superyachts off the island last December.
Scotland's World Cup Campaign
McTominay played a key role in helping Scotland qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1998, scoring an iconic overhead kick in the decisive playoff win over Denmark. Scotland were drawn in a tough group with Brazil and Morocco. Despite an opening win over Haiti, they failed to progress as one of the best third-placed teams, leading to manager Steve Clarke's resignation.
After their final 3-0 defeat to Brazil, the squad faced a tense wait for third-placed team permutations, which ultimately did not go in their favour.
Club Success with Napoli
McTominay played 44 games for Napoli last season, scoring 14 goals, before heading to the World Cup. He joined Napoli in 2024 from Manchester United, where he came through the academy and made 255 appearances. In his first season with Napoli, he won the Serie A title and earned the Serie A Most Valuable Player award.
The midfielder will now turn his attention back to club football with Napoli after his brief Caribbean break.
