Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming romantic comedy Voicemails for Isabelle, a film that promises to deliver both laughter and tears. Subscribers are already declaring the genre is back after witnessing this poignant story, set to premiere on Friday, 19th June.

A Tragic Premise with a Modern Twist

The film stars Zoey Deutch (Set It Up) and Nick Robinson (Love, Simon) as two strangers connected by a devastating loss. After Jill (Deutch) loses her sister Isabelle (Ciara Bravo), she begins leaving voicemails about her life in San Francisco, including dating mishaps and her struggles as a chef under a tyrannical boss, Chef Bastien (Nick Offerman). Unbeknownst to Jill, her sister's phone number has been reassigned to Wes (Robinson), an estate agent in Austin, Texas. Wes grapples with whether to reveal himself as he listens to her messages.
