Leigh Francis, best known for his role on Celebrity Juice, has revealed a nasty injury he sustained during a recent DJ performance. The 53-year-old entertainer was scratched near his eye by an overzealous fan while playing a set at the Sound Bites festival in Syon Park, London.
Taking to TikTok, Francis showed off the red scratch running from close to his eye along his temple. He explained: 'I went into the crowd and someone was overcome with joy, so that was a nice feeling, and she went ‘I love you’ and put her hands towards my face and her thumbnail, which was quite long, did that.'
He added: 'Could’ve been worse, could’ve gone in my eye but yeah bit of a naughty one that, innit?'
Fan Reactions and Updates
The post drew a mix of concern and humour from fans. One commented: 'That's awful, not acceptable,' while another joked: 'When it comes to being a fan, she nailed it.'
The following day, Francis shared a more reflective update, calling the injury his 'war wound.' He said: 'As I navigated the excitement of pumping music and connecting with the crowd, I encountered what I now refer to as my 'war wound.' This wasn't just a physical mark; it represented the hard work and dedication that goes into being a performer in the DJ scene.'
He continued: 'Every cut, scrape, and bruise tells a story of passion and resilience in the fast-paced world of music. I want to thank everyone who has supported me on this journey, especially my followers who have encouraged me along the way.'
Future TV Plans
While fans hope for a return to television, Francis has been cautious. Talks for revivals of Through the Keyhole and Celebrity Juice were reportedly halted. He said last year: 'I haven’t pitched any ideas for TV shows in ages. If I do and someone likes it then I’ll be back but if I don’t, I won’t.'
He also commented on the current television landscape: 'It’s gone mad, you can’t make anything without it upsetting people. If you think you’re gonna be offended you shouldn’t watch but I can’t be bothered to get into this deep conversation.'
