Hollyoaks has confirmed details of a special episode next week that will solve a series of mysteries that have kept audiences gripped – and one of those will finally unmask the secret love of Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana).
The audience has been aware that, before returning to the village, Imran fell for someone before ultimately marrying Leah Barnes. Now that this romance has crumbled, Imran's mind has floated back to this mystery other woman. And, well, it doesn't take a genius to deduce that viewers will know this person.
Time-Travel Romance in LA
The long-running Channel 4 soap will journey audiences back in time next Monday (October 19). During the unmissable edition of the serial drama, a chance encounter in a faraway land will occur in days gone by – with a love story subsequently unfolding for two village favourites.
The love story is seen to unfold in the glitzy streets of LA – and, although you will work out that there is some artistic license utilised for the setting – it does still give glamour. As for who Imran has hooked up with, we are keeping that under wraps so as not to ruin the surprise. However, it's fair to say that the ramifications will be long-stretching for many characters.
Village Mysteries Unravel
But wait, there is more! As the episode progresses, the truth to a mystery that has gripped the village – and the viewers – for months is finally revealed. Could it be the disappearance of Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), who vanished without a trace in August? Let the speculation commence…
Elsewhere in the village… Leah Barnes (Charlotte Alex Riley) uncovers Imran Maalik's (Ijaz Rana) secret confession in his deleted files and comes to realise that he's still in love with his ex, which dashes her hopes of a reunion. Jenson Cole (Ryan Clayton), meanwhile, spends the night with Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe), who is once again left unnerved by his behaviour – and is forced to play nice in order to escape a dangerous situation.
And later, Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) is livid to hear about what happened while Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) comes into possession of some disturbing information about Jenson. Elsewhere, Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) has her first day of work experience – and it gets off to a distressing start as a friend is rushed to hospital.
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
