Corrections: Ithaca, Madness of King George, and more

The Guardian has issued corrections for several recent articles, including a misnamed Greek island and an incorrect film release year.

Ithaca and Icarus mix-up

A feature about the film I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning incorrectly referred to the Greek king Odysseus arriving at “Icarus”. The correct location is Ithaca. Icarus was a mythical figure who flew too close to the sun. The error appeared in the article ‘No one ever leaves the world they grew up in’ (15 October, G2, p8).

Film release year corrected

The film The Madness of King George was released in 1994, not 1984 as stated in the George Fenton obituary (14 October, Journal, p6).

Other recent amendments

Other recently amended articles include: new details on two killed after a woman drove through a Kansas soccer game; the UN statement that the world must cut emissions by 18% in four years ‘to find our way back’; Pauline Hanson conceding that a One Nation video mocking Jacqui Lambie’s prolapsed vagina needs to be changed; and a piece on the butter boom – how the world fell back in love with the glorious golden spread.
