Ana de Armas Joins Cameron Diaz & Benicio del Toro in 'Reenactment'
Ana de Armas joins Cameron Diaz in new film Reenactment

Hollywood star Ana de Armas is in final negotiations to headline the upcoming movie Reenactment, joining an impressive ensemble cast that includes Cameron Diaz and Benicio del Toro.

Star-Studded Cast and Production Details

The Knives Out actress, 37, is set to appear alongside Cameron Diaz, 53, and Benicio del Toro, 58, in director Grant Singer's forthcoming project, according to industry reports from Deadline. While specific plot details remain tightly under wraps, the film is scheduled to begin production shortly in Los Angeles.

This collaboration marks a reunion for del Toro, Singer, and production company Black Label Media, who previously worked together on Singer's 2023 feature debut Reptile. The production team includes Black Label's Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill, alongside Patrick Wachsberger of 193.

Hollywood Connections and Relationship History

The casting creates an interesting dynamic given Diaz's long-standing friendship with de Armas' former partner Tom Cruise. The two Hollywood veterans previously shared the screen in 2001's Vanilla Sky and 2010's Knight And Day.

De Armas and Cruise were rumoured to be dating from early 2025, with their relationship confirmed publicly last July during a Vermont trip. Reports indicated the couple parted ways in October 2025, though sources close to both suggested they decided to maintain a friendship.

The pair were originally slated to co-star in Deeper, with filming planned for England and Malta during the summer months. However, budget complications postponed production, though Variety reports the project may revive at a later date.

Recent Projects and Future Prospects

De Armas most recently showcased her action credentials in the John Wick spin-off Ballerina, portraying assassin Eve Macarro on a vengeful mission against her family's killers. The film featured an impressive supporting cast including Norman Reedus, Keanu Reeves as John Wick, Ian McShane as Winston, and the late Lance Reddick as Charon.

Following Ballerina, de Armas hinted that her character would follow a path similar to John Wick's journey. 'Clearly she will have some people coming after her for what she's done,' she told Screen Rant. 'She's now in a place where John Wick was. She's the one being hunted and people want her dead.'

The actress suggested Eve Macarro would have 'nowhere to hide' in potential sequels, indicating that other Ruska Roma members might pursue her following the events of Ballerina.

Meanwhile, de Armas' recent film Eden, which also stars Sydney Sweeney, has emerged as a surprise streaming hit this autumn, demonstrating her continued box office appeal across different genres.
