Vicky Pattison has revealed she and husband Ercan Ramadan are actively trying for a baby, using ovulation sticks and fertility gummies, as she takes on a new role co-hosting the podcast Just As Well from Women's Health UK.
The 38-year-old reality TV star, who recently completed a 250-mile cycle, run and kayak challenge from Newcastle to London for charity, said: “Women’s health is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I know from my own experience how confusing, isolating and overwhelming it can feel trying to find answers.”
Family plans with Ercan Ramadan
Vicky married businessman Ercan in August 2024, following a romance that began in 2019. The couple are devoted dog parents to their two Labradors, Milo and Max, but have now put arrangements in motion to have children.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on October 12, Vicky said: “I think, like, over the years, I've been so fortunate enough to be able to use my platform to do incredible things for brilliant charities. But I sort of realised this year that there is another element of my life that I need to focus on and prioritise. Me and Ercan celebrated our 2-year anniversary, very recently and would love to have a family.”
Fertility journey and career worries
Vicky added: “And even though I'm a huge champion for women making that choice, that decision, if it's right for them, whatever is right in their life, you know, I wouldn't have been the mother that I'm hoping to be in my 20s, I know that.”
She continued: “I am also aware that the time is ticking, so yeah, we're getting our head down. We've got all the ovulation sticks, we've got all the fertility gummies. He thinks it's going to be like the Magaluf weekender and we're going to have a great time, but I've told him sex to have a baby is very different!”
Emotional admission
In an emotional admission, Vicky confessed: “If I do choose to have a child, which of course I have and I'm dead excited about, I worry about the modifications, the impact on my career, taking time off, how I'm going to go being a present and proactive mother with also working as much as I am.”
The full interview appears in the new issue of Women’s Health, out October 20.
