Vernon Kay and Tess Daly came together at The BoTree hotel in London to mark their eldest daughter Phoebe's 22nd birthday, posting a joint Instagram tribute featuring photos and clips from the celebration.
The former Strictly Come Dancing host and the BBC Radio 2 DJ, who married in 2003 and announced their separation in May after 23 years, showed no signs of tension as they partied with family and friends. Vernon took to the decks to provide music for the evening.
Birthday girl's outfit and family tributes
Phoebe, who bears a strong resemblance to her mother, wore a black lace bodysuit with sheer lace trousers, gold heels, and jewellery. Tess, 57, opted for a colourful wrap dress, while Vernon, 52, wore a smart black long-sleeved shirt and black trousers.
Both parents shared individual messages for Phoebe. Tess posted a collection of photos, including side-by-side shots of herself and her daughter, a holiday picture, and a childhood photo, writing: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful Phoebe. I’m so incredibly proud of the kind, caring and beautiful soul you are."
Vernon shared photos of himself with Phoebe at an NFL game and as a child, adding: "Happy Birthday @phoebekay!!! Time flies!! A joy watching you become the woman you are!" Tess replied: "Our baby."
Well-wishers and Phoebe's own post
Among those sending birthday wishes were Tess's former Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman, current judge Motsi Mabuse, singer Michelle Visage, Olympic champion Dame Denise Lewis, and actress Anna Friel.
Phoebe posted her own Instagram message, saying: "Birthday bash for the books. The best evening celebrating with all my favourite people and family. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting than @the_botree truly one to remember."
Speaking to presenter Sara Cox last week, Vernon said: "It's our eldest daughter's birthday today," before confirming her age and asking: "Where? Where has that time gone?"
Separation announcement
In May, Tess and Vernon announced their separation, stating: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us."
They added that they "remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority."
