TikTok star Marcel Johnson dies aged 33

TikTok personality Marcel Johnson has died at the age of 33. The father of five received a stage four stomach cancer diagnosis last year and shared his health battle on the social media platform.

He passed away on 2 November, his wife Taylor confirmed. Taylor has since spoken publicly, honouring her husband while acknowledging that her "life will never ever be the same."

Wife's tribute on Facebook

Posting on Facebook, Taylor uploaded several photographs of the couple together. She wrote: "November 2 2026 @ 4:45pm. I lost a whole entire half of me. He fought so hard for so long. He was so tired and exhausted and in so much pain."

"Yesterday the only words Marcel said all day were to me and Dedric and it was 'I'm ready to go' and that was in the morning. He still fought to hang on all day so we just got a bit more time. I truly don't even have words right now."

"I feel like this can't be real life. How can this be real f***ing life. I thought I was going to wake up and he was still going to be here beside me. I love him with my whole entire being and life will absolutely never ever be the same."

Fan tributes and brother's message

The comments section was inundated with tributes from grief-stricken followers. One posted: "Taylor, I can't even imagine.. Marcel definitely left an impact on this world, he was so strong and showed those boys endless amount of love. My heart breaks for you guys, so so much."

Another commenter wrote: "I dont think ive ever been more sad for strangers on the internet then you guys. There is no words to take away your pain but the love you guys shared will always be there."

Marcel's younger brother Dedric also offered a heartfelt tribute, describing him as his "protector" and "built in best friend." He wrote: "I've spent so much of my life looking up to you, and I don't think I ever truly found the words to explain just how proud I am to be your little brother."

"Proud of the man you became, the family/foundation you built, the father you were to your boys, even a father figure to me having lost our dad so young, and the strength you showed even when life gave you every reason to give up."

"You fought a battle that had odds stacked against you from the jump and you faced every last minute of it with a courage and a tenacity that you were going to beat this shit, and I'll admire that for the rest of my life. Saying you were strong is an understatement, you were a real life superhero."

"Having you as my big brother was the biggest blessing I've had in life. Losing you feels like losing a part of myself, a part of my history, and a piece of home that I can never replace."

"But I need you to know something. That promise I made you wasn't just something I said to give you peace. It's a promise I intend to keep for the rest of my life. Taylor and those boys will never have to question whether they Uncle Deej. I'll be there for the birthdays, the milestones, the hard days, and all the little moments in between."

"I'll do everything I can to make sure your boys grow up knowing exactly who their Dad was, how deeply he loved them, and how proud he would be of them. I'll never be able to fill your shoes, but I'll spend my life making sure they never feel like they have to walk through this world alone the way that you and I did."

Warning about AI images

Taylor subsequently urged followers not to circulate AI-generated images of Marcel. She continued: "I know everyone means well but like that does not look like him or us and I feel it's a slap in the face."
