The Feeling frontman Dan Gillespie Sells appears to have married his partner John McCrea in a low-key London ceremony, with pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor among the guests.
Bassist shares congratulations on Instagram
Richard Jones, bassist for the noughties rock band, took to Instagram on Tuesday, October 20, to congratulate the couple following their wedding. Sharing a series of photographs and videos from the celebrations, Jones wrote: "Congratulations to @dangsells and @officialjohnmccrea A day of pure Joy!"
The post included a video of Ellis-Bextor performing an acoustic piano version of her hit song Murder on the Dancefloor, providing a musical highlight from the apparent celebrations. The images were tagged at Hackney Town Hall in east London, suggesting the couple may have tied the knot at the popular wedding venue.
Career highlights and connections
Gillespie Sells, 46, is best known as the lead singer of The Feeling, whose catchy pop-rock anthems became a fixture of British music in the mid-2000s. The band rose to prominence with their 2006 debut album, Twelve Stops and Home, which featured hit singles including Fill My Little World, Sewn and Never Be Lonely. Their success earned them a string of award nominations and established them as one of the era's most recognisable British pop-rock acts.
Ellis-Bextor's appearance at the celebrations is perhaps fitting given her long-standing connection to Jones, whom she married in 2005. The pair first met when he auditioned to join her touring band. Ellis-Bextor, meanwhile, enjoyed a major career resurgence in recent years as Murder on the Dancefloor reached a new generation of listeners after featuring in the 2023 film Saltburn.
