Tom Annandale, who became an internet sensation after crashing into a glass door during a naked tennis court dash, has made an emotional plea for help as his partner battles stage four cancer.
Annandale went viral after his botched streak at Port Aventura in Spain was uploaded to YouTube. The 23-second clip showed him attempting a sprint across the court before crashing into the glass surround, leaving players and friends watching as he limped off.
Viral Fame and Hollywood
The 2011 mishap racked up more than 100 million views online and was later featured in the 2013 Jennifer Aniston film We're The Millers.
Now the 44-year-old project manager is calling on anyone who enjoyed his stunt to help support his partner of 20 years, Danyelle Edwards.
Partner's Cancer Battle
Edwards, 46, beat breast cancer four years ago, but the couple received the news that the illness has returned at stage four. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Manchester's specialist cancer hospital, The Christie.
Annandale, from Scholar Green, Cheshire, is trying to raise money so he can step back from work to care for her and fund potential alternative treatments once her chemotherapy ends.
Emotional Plea
In an online appeal, Annandale wrote: "Did you like the video? I hope you did. Wondering if you can help me Unfortunately, my girlfriend had cancer four years ago.
"I am hoping to raise some money to scour the world for a cure, in the short term take some time off work to look after her, or in the long term find a way to cure her – whether that be somewhere abroad or holistic methods.
"I am sure a lot of people have laughed at that video over the years. If you could help me out that would be great."
