A Grammy-nominated music producer behind megahits for Drake and Beyoncé has died suddenly at the age of 29. Brytavious Chambers, known professionally as Tay Keith, was found dead in his apartment by police officers conducting a welfare check.

Police Investigation Underway

The Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed the death on Thursday, June 18. In a social media statement, they said: 'No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers, 29, also known as the Grammy nominated record producer Tay Keith. He was found dead in his Martin St apt this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified, pending autopsy results.'

Career Highlights

The Tennessee-born producer first achieved success with rappers Drake and Travis Scott. Their track 'Sicko Mode' dominated US charts and amassed 2.5 billion streams on Spotify. Throughout his career, Tay Keith earned eleven top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including four number-one songs. He also set a record with six number-one hits on the R&B and Hip-Hop charts. His work earned him a Grammy nomination in 2019.

Tributes Pour In

Following the news of his death, tributes flooded in from fans and fellow artists. BlocBoy JB, a childhood friend, shared photos of the pair as teenagers on social media. He wrote: 'Damn, cause you just hurt me bad.' In another post, he added: 'We talked everyday, you didn't tell me you was leaving.' Producer Hitkidd also paid tribute on Instagram, sharing a photo and saying: 'I ain't even got the words, we've been doing this since 2010.'
