Take That have revealed a major announcement for 2026, confirming a new three-part Netflix documentary series set to premiere on January 27. The show, simply titled 'Take That', will mark the band's 35th anniversary and feature rare archive footage, never-before-seen personal material, and interviews with current members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald, as well as archive interviews with former members Robbie Williams and Jason Orange.
The documentary will chronicle the band's journey from their formation in Manchester in 1990, through their rise to pop superstardom, their dramatic split, and their comeback. Netflix described the series as 'an intimate look at the highs, the heartbreaks, and the enduring legacy of one of the UK’s most successful bands of all time'. The first footage released shows the band backstage, with Gary Barlow saying in a voiceover: 'Nothing beats being in a band. There's a strength, there's a buzz. But I don't think anything could prepare you for what we were about to take on, come the '90s.'
The announcement comes ahead of the band's 'The Circus Live – Summer 2026' tour, which will kick off in Southampton on May 29 and include four shows at Manchester's Etihad Stadium. Fans, known as 'Thatters', have expressed excitement, with one commenting: 'Finally! Now will I need to stock up on tissues to watch this?' Another noted the documentary's release coincides with Mark Owen's 54th birthday.
