Strictly's Emma Willis stuns fans with real age revelation

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were astonished to learn the actual age of one of the programme's presenters, Emma Willis. After Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman's choice to depart from the BBC programme, executives opted to introduce Josh Widdicombe, Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe as the dynamic presenting trio for the 2026 series.

Fans shocked by Emma's age

In recent times, she has fronted reality television shows including The Circle, The Voice, and Love is Blind alongside her husband, Matt Willis. Yet with Emma featuring on screens increasingly throughout the years, some viewers were utterly amazed upon discovering certain details about her.

When supporters encountered footage from a recent interview Emma conducted with You Magazine, they were shocked to discover her true age.

In the footage, she stated: "So, I am 50 and I wish I'd have known how capable I was. I feel like I have had the brakes on for decades in my life because I was always scared that I either wasn't good enough or I wouldn't succeed..

Fans react to the revelation

"And it's only really been, I suppose, the last five years that I've kind of gone, 'Oh actually, you should just give it a try because it doesn't matter how it ends up, you've given it a go.' And I don't think you'll ever really regret trying."

Fans were quick to flood the TikTok clip with compliments about Emma's appearance, with many astonished to discover she had reached the age of 50.

One person said: "50 YEARS OF EARTH. She's utterly incredible in every sense." A second said: "Huh. I thought Emma was 40/41 max." A third person added: "Did not know she was 50. Kudos." A fourth said: "I'm no longer afraid of turning 50!"

Emma's career and heritage

Born in Birmingham, Emma Louise Willis discovered a great deal more about her ancestry when she featured on Who Do You Think You Are. The programme confirmed her deep-rooted connections to Birmingham, with her family history traced all the way back to her great-great-great-grandfather.

She also uncovered Irish heritage, which left her feeling deeply unsettled upon learning that one ancestor was a violent Orangeman. Emma embarked on a modelling career at just 15, gracing the pages of prestigious publications including Marie Claire, Elle, Vogue, GAP and Chanel, before making the transition to television presenting in 2002.
