Sarah Abo Named New Co-Host of Today Show, Replacing Allison Langdon

Channel Nine has announced that 60 Minutes reporter Sarah Abo will replace Allison Langdon as co-host of the Today show, alongside Karl Stefanovic. Langdon is leaving the breakfast programme to host A Current Affair in the New Year, following Tracy Grimshaw's departure.

Abo, 35, expressed her excitement in a press release, saying: 'I am thrilled to be joining the wonderful and hard-working team at Today, who manage to inform the nation every morning while also having a lot of fun.' She acknowledged the early start would be an adjustment but looked forward to 'keeping Karl on his toes'.

Karl Stefanovic praised Langdon's work over the past three years, calling her 'an incredible broadcaster', but said he was excited to work with Abo, describing her as 'a brilliant interviewer' with 'the most wicked sense of humour'. Nine's Director of Morning Television, Steven Burling, called Abo's appointment 'a massive coup for Today'.

She has covered major international events and interviewed figures including former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and climate activist Greta Thunberg. Born in Damascus, Syria, Abo moved to Australia at age four and will be based in Sydney for the role.
