Ruby Wax Threatens to Sue I'm a Celebrity Producers Over 'Trash' Hotel

TV presenter Ruby Wax has threatened legal action against ITV producers just hours after arriving in Australia for the new series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. The 71-year-old comedian blasted her hotel accommodation as 'trash' and demanded a room change.

Wax, known for her sharp wit and celebrity interviews, warned that hunger and exhaustion could turn her snarly – and that producers should be worried. 'I would just get snarly at the people who are producing this show and remind them that they are insured and I could sue them,' she said.

The star, who has interviewed figures including Donald Trump, OJ Simpson and Sarah Ferguson, joked that her campmates will hear her Trump stories whether they like it or not. 'Oh, they will come out of my mouth,' she promised.

Admitting she is partly doing the show to lose weight, Wax said: 'I am kind of chubby now. You know the stomach is over the top of the jean, and so part of the reason I am doing this is for dietary reasons.'

She revealed her children are horrified by her participation. 'My children were horrified, because I am in total embarrassment to them in general. My existence is mortifying to my children. The fact that I breathe is an embarrassment,' she said.

Despite nerves about heights and a fear of plane crashes, Wax insisted she is not a quitter – unless producers 'throw me off a cliff'. For now, her biggest battle appears to be with her hotel room rather than the jungle.
