Rosie O'Donnell's Daughter Chelsea Opens Up About Prison Journey and Recovery
Rosie O'Donnell's Daughter Shares Prison Experience

In a raw and revealing new interview, Chelsea O'Donnell, the daughter of renowned comedian and actress Rosie O'Donnell, has spoken candidly about her time behind bars and her ongoing journey toward recovery.

The 28-year-old, who was released from prison in December after serving time for a probation violation, described the experience as both challenging and transformative. "It was a wake-up call I needed," Chelsea admitted during the emotional discussion.

The Struggle Before Prison

Chelsea's legal troubles stemmed from a series of incidents that began with her arrest in 2021 for allegedly assaulting her then-girlfriend. This led to a probation violation when she failed to comply with court-ordered treatment programs.

"My mental health was at an all-time low," she revealed. "I was struggling with addiction and wasn't making the right choices for myself or my family."

A Mother's Support Through Difficult Times

Despite the public nature of their struggles, Rosie O'Donnell has remained a steadfast supporter of her daughter. The celebrity mother has been open about Chelsea's challenges in the past, even offering a $50,000 reward when her daughter went missing in 2015.

"Having my mom's support through this has meant everything," Chelsea shared. "She never gave up on me, even when I had given up on myself."

Life After Release and Looking Forward

Since her release, Chelsea has been focusing on rebuilding her life and maintaining her sobriety. She's been working with mental health professionals and addiction specialists to create a sustainable path forward.

"I'm taking things one day at a time," she explained. "Prison gave me the structure I needed to really confront my demons, but the real work happens out here in the real world."

Chelsea hopes that by sharing her story, she can help others facing similar struggles with mental health and addiction. "There's no shame in asking for help," she emphasized. "I'm proof that it's never too late to turn your life around."
