The penultimate episode of The Celebrity Traitors saw actress Sharon Rooney murdered and comedian Joanne McNally banished from the BBC reality gameshow.
Rooney learned of her fate after McNally was eliminated at the roundtable, where both contestants drew suspicion. The traitors, social media star King Kenny, TV presenter Maya Jama and comedian James Acaster, chose to murder Rooney to sow confusion among the faithfuls.
Reactions After the Roundtable
Following her murder, Rooney said: “I think this was Maya Jama, I think that is her love heart and her kisses.”
McNally was voted out after King Kenny held the final and deciding vote, along with the power of a double dagger that gave him two votes at the roundtable, and he opted to banish her.
McNally's Farewell and Mission Details
After her fate was decided, McNally said: “I’ve had such an amazing time with all of you, it’s been one of the best experiences of my adult life, I actually feel emotional… It has been amazing, thanks so much for all making it what it was, I’m premenstrual. I’ve had such a great time, I am a hardcore faithful.”
During Thursday’s show, Jama attracted heat when she toasted her fellow contestants by saying: “To killing them, banishing them even.”
For the mission, the celebrities had to match the severed ‘heads’ of contestants who had left the show with their buried bodies, with teams split between a lab, where the heads were, and a garden, where the bodies were. Those in the lab relayed screams to their teammates in the garden to match the heads and bodies.
The Celebrity Traitors continues on BBC One.
