Rob Beckett: I refuse to do TV shows without my famous mates

Celebrity Traitors star Rob Beckett has revealed he refuses to do TV shows without his famous comedian friends because, in his words, "they're the funniest people in the world."

The comic and his pal Romesh Ranganathan both currently feature in the Traitors Scottish castle, and he regularly works on other projects with close friends like Josh Widdicombe.

Why Rob prefers working with friends

Rob, 40, explained: "Because of my job, I met those guys years ago, like 15 years, we're old mates really, that have progressed together."

"I'm in a position now where I have access to and I'm friends with some of the funniest people in the world. Why on earth would I want to do a show on my own?"

"I feel like it's more fun to be with someone funny and mess about, so I love working with people and collaborating and stuff like that. We're like a little family, really. Real good friends that I love doing shows with...I'm so lucky."

NDAs and nerves around the show

Rob had to sign NDAs about what happened in Celebrity Traitors and "more NDAs about how it's filmed", which has made him super nervous even discussing anything to do with the show.

He laughed: "I'm going to quote Jose Mourinho on this, where he said, I prefer not to speak, because if I speak, I get into big trouble."

Tonight's episode

Rob Beckett is one of four celebrities alongside Ranganathan, Ross Kemp and Leigh-Anne Pinnock who could face murder in tonight's episode after partaking in a game of hide and seek in the woods. It airs at 8pm on BBC One.
