Pussycat Dolls Set for Major Comeback Tour as Trio After Years of Turmoil

The iconic noughties girl group, the Pussycat Dolls, are reportedly plotting a significant comeback tour later this year, but with a major twist. According to sources, the tour will proceed without three original members, following years of behind-the-scenes difficulties and disputes.

A Troubled Reunion History

The group initially reunited in 2019, with Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, and Jessica Sutta coming together for a short-lived revival. They released the comeback single React, but their planned tour was first postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and ultimately cancelled. Nicole Scherzinger confirmed the cancellation via an Instagram post, citing evolving circumstances, a move that Kimberly Wyatt reportedly learned about moments before going live on Dancing On Ice.

In 2021, further turmoil emerged when it was claimed that Scherzinger was refusing to participate in the tour and was being sued by the Dolls' founder, Robin Antin. This dispute was eventually settled in November 2024, with no further details disclosed. Nicole later indicated she would consider another reunion, setting the stage for the current developments.

The New Trio Formation

Now, insiders report that a tour is being planned for later this year, but it will feature only Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts. Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and fellow founding member Melody Thornton, who was absent from the 2019 reunion, will not be part of the new line-up.

A source revealed: Nicole and the girls have been talking about getting Pussycat Dolls back together for months now. Covid scuppered the original plan and then disagreements behind the scenes meant it all fell apart. But Nicole, Ashley and Kimberly are a solid unit, and they're raring to go.

The source added that the trio is due to meet in London to finalise details and toast the deal for the tour, which is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Kimberly Wyatt Reflects on Difficulties and Legacy

Last year, Kimberly Wyatt openly discussed the challenges of reuniting the group, telling The Mirror that getting her bandmates on the same page was difficult. She mentioned a potential documentary, stating, I've got a documentary which could be made if the girls want to do it. But getting women all on the same page is a difficult task. I can't help but always try because I love it.

Wyatt also reflected on the group's legacy, expressing pride in their hard work and impact. She highlighted performances at Los Angeles bars and collaborations with stars like Scarlett Johansson, Britney Spears, and Kelly Clarkson. I'm so proud, Pussycat Doll once, Pussycat Doll for life, she exclaimed.

She added, I still meet, especially at pride events, people whose lives were changed because of the Dolls, they've been in tears, because it helped them feel seen. They could have the confidence that maybe life didn't always allow them to feel that they could be. Wyatt now hosts a DJ dance show called Don't You Disco on Hits Radio, where she plays Pussycat Dolls tunes.

A spokesperson for the Pussycat Dolls has declined to comment on the latest tour reports.
