Prince Louis Set for Wimbledon Debut with Princess Kate

Prince Louis is 'certain' to make his first debut at Wimbledon this summer, a royal expert has said. Although not officially confirmed, it is believed that the young prince could finally join his parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine, and his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, in the royal box at Centre Court.

Prince Louis's Wimbledon Debut

The prince, who is believed to be a tennis fan, has never attended Wimbledon in person. Over the last few years, both his older siblings, George, 12, and Charlotte, 11, have attended with their parents, while Louis has always stayed at home. Both George and Charlotte first started attending games at a similar age to Louis, eight, now.

While Catherine, 44, once said Louis was 'upset' not to have been able to watch the match in person, this may no longer be the case. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams exclusively told the Daily Express that he is 'all but certain' the young prince will be at the event this year and make his Wimbledon debut, which will no doubt excite royal fans.

Expert Opinion

Richard Fitzwilliams said: 'It's all but certain that Prince Louis, now 8, will attend Wimbledon this year together with his parents. Both of his siblings attended at 8. The reason he has waited is reportedly the length of some of the matches and Wimbledon etiquette.'

Fitzwilliams continued: 'We know the emphasis Catherine has placed on sport; she has been Patron of Wimbledon since 2016. She has said Louis is keen on a couple of occasions, which included a chat to a Wimbledon ball boy, when she talked about how he was practising.'

In 2019, tennis legend Stan Smith gave Louis a special pair of Adidas Stan Smith trainers. Last year, he was given an autographed tennis ball signed by tennis star Jannik Sinner. 'He will undoubtedly be longing to make his debut in the Royal Box!' Fitzwilliams added.

Royal Family at Wimbledon

The royal family has a long-standing association with Wimbledon, with the Princess of Wales as Patron since 2016. Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been seen enjoying matches in the royal box, and now it appears Prince Louis will join them. The event is a highlight of the summer social calendar, and Louis's attendance is highly anticipated by royal fans.
