Peter Andre Sends Well Wishes to Dolly Parton Amid Health Struggles
Peter Andre Sends Well Wishes to Dolly Parton

Peter Andre has shared his heartfelt well wishes for Dolly Parton after the country music legend revealed she is facing health problems that forced her to cancel her Las Vegas residency. The 80-year-old singer, known for hits like "9 to 5" and "Jolene," initially postponed her shows to September 2026 but later decided to pull the plug entirely.

Peter Andre's Message of Support

Writing in his new! magazine column, Andre, 53, expressed sadness over the news. "It is always sad when legends like Dolly Parton have to cancel their shows over ill health," he wrote. "We see all these icons getting older and having health problems, and we never want that to happen. I really love Dolly; I have always loved her since I was a kid."

Andre emphasized the importance of a positive mindset, recalling his father's optimistic attitude. "I think a positive outlook is really good. I always ring my dad, who is 93, to ask how he is, and he says, 'At least not worse!' I like that," he added.

Dolly Parton's Health Update

In a social media video, Parton shared both good and bad news with fans. She revealed that doctors have assured her that "everything is treatable" and that she is improving daily. However, she explained that she is not yet well enough to return to the stage. "The bad news is it's gonna take me a little while before I'm up to stage level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit swim-headed," she said.

Parton humorously compared herself to an old car in need of repairs. "Think of me as an old-fashioned car: once restored, it can be better than ever. But when they lifted the hood on this antique, they realized that I need to rebuild my engine, my transmission is slipping, and my mufflers need busting," she joked. She also mentioned ongoing issues with kidney stones, her immune system, and digestive system.

Despite the setbacks, Parton remains optimistic and continues to work on other projects, including a Broadway musical and her Dollywood attractions. "I'm still working, videos, recording, I go up and down to Dollywood and I'm working hard on getting my hotel and museum open," she said. She encouraged fans to enjoy Las Vegas without her and promised to see them "somewhere down the line."

Andre concluded his column by echoing Parton's own words: "When she says that a happy heart is good medicine, she is so right."
